Olamilekan Mubarak Raji, better known by his stage name Shaamar, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and musicologist. He was born on April 10, 2002, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Shaamar's music was first discovered when a CD containing his songs was recovered from a dumpster in the street of Lagos. The label A&R submitted the songs for review, which triggered a search mission for the true owner of the soulful and captivating vocals. After three months of searching, Shaamar was found and signed to Steady Juice Entertainment.
Shaamar's love for music led him to study music at the Lagos State University. His music is a blend of Afrobeats, pop, Afrofusion, and RnB. His lyrics are personal, introspective, and his songs often deal with themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. He has a unique sound that is both catchy and thought-provoking. Shaamar's first single "Abena" tells a heartbreaking story around love and men's vulnerability in a romantic relationship.
