Dancehall are a trio of believers in distortion, energy and melody who meld their serrated punk with droning shoegaze elements. Meeting via guitarist Craig's fanboy obsessions with Tim (vocals) previous band, Kill Kenada, the band have been rapidly writing, recording and playing together for 2 years.
During this time the trio have collected "hundreds" of bedroom demos, self-releasing two 7"s records and two cassette tape releases, earning praise from Wonderland, DIY, Clash Music, Dork Magazine and radio airplay from indie rock tastemakers BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq, Tom Ravenscroft and John Kennedy at Radio X, among others.
The band's DIY ethics and hunger to release their music on their own label Vibe/Anti-Vibe has gained them attention from Rough Trade who invited to play Rough Trade's 40th Anniversary All-Dayer and to play in-store for the release of the band's debut album.
In 2018 Dancehall will be self-releasing another single in March with their debut album set for release in June. During this period Dancehall hope to tour Europe and bring their energetic live show to as much as possible of the countries they love.
