The Flirts, an American dance music group from New York, were formed in 1980 by producer Bobby Orlando. The group consisted of three female singers chosen according to a "blonde-brune-rousse" schema: Andrea del Conte, Rebecca Sullivan, and Holly Kerr. Their debut album 10ยข a Dance was released in February 1982, featuring the single "Jukebox (Don't Put Another Dime)" and "Passion" which reached number 4 in Germany and Switzerland. Shortly after, Holly Kerr was replaced by Hope Rayman and the group followed their early success in 1983 with second album, Born to Flirt, continuing to gain popularity with appearances on European television shows such as Premiatissima and TopPop. The Flirts' success continued with singles like "Helpless (You Took My Love)" (1984) and "Dancin' Madly Backwards" (1985), which charted in multiple countries. Internal conflicts led to the departure of all three members, however despite this, the group's influence persisted through various compilations and reissues. The Flirts are noted for their contributions to Italo disco and hi-NRG genres, with singles "Passion" and "Helpless (You Took My Love)" remaining popular in dance music circles. In the 2010s, former vocalist Christina Criscione (who had originally joined the group in 1984) revived the moniker alongside new members Kim Rowe and Danielle McKee and went on several tour throughout the United States.
