Ingo Hassenstein – Composer, Guitarist & Producer
Education
Ingo Hassenstein studied guitar at the vocational school in Dinkelsbühl and completed the continuing education program in popular music at the University of Hamburg.
Live & Session Work
Ingo has played in the studio and/or live with various artists, including Max Mutzke, Edo Zanki, Nina Hagen, Strom & Wasser feat. The Refugees, Egill Olafson, Ragga Gröndal, Benny Greb, his band Planting Robots, Esebria, emmy moll, singers Sarah Kaiser and Sarah Brendel, the Motown Show, Amazing Grace, the Martin Luther King Musical Show, and for many years in the gospel formation Get up!. As a Musical Director, he has worked with Warner Music, and has also collaborated with producer Tony Visconti. Since 2024, he has formed two duos with singers Njeri Weth and Ute Henryke Büttner.
Producing & Composing
Increasingly, Ingo works as a producer for artists. His strength lies in bringing out the individual artistic sound and giving the artist a musical corporate identity.
Film & Production Music
Ingo composes music in various genres for film, documentaries, advertising, and trailers. His music is used in various TV broadcasting formats, including:

His music is also used internationally, including at the Super Bowl.
Education
Ingo teaches at the Hamburg School of Music, organizes the Complete Music Camp in Kassel and Hamburg, and holds a teaching position at the Popakademie in Witten. Ingo’s unique teaching style combines dedication, pedagogical skill, humor, determination, and a healthy balance of theory and practice. In 2024, Ingo released his first guitar book, Balloon Ride.
State Music Council
Since 2024, Ingo has been working as a consultant for popular music at the State Music Council in Schleswig-Holstein, with the goal of increasing visibility and promoting this genre in the region.
