Helinho Medeiros has a Master's degree in Music from the Federal University of Paraíba, where he has also worked as a professor since 2012. He is an accordion player, pianist, producer and composer, having an extensive CV that includes recording more than 100 titles, including CDs and DVDs. He is currently a PhD student in the Postgraduate Program in Music at UFPB.
Born in João Pessoa-PB, he began his studies as a child, and very early discovered the universe of improvisation.
Since 1996, when he officially began his career, he has been active in the Brazilian and international artistic scene, playing, recording, producing and directing several groups and artists throughout Brazil, as well as Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Since 2013, he has been part of the band of Singer and Composer, Chico César, with whom he recorded the album “Estado de Poesia” (2015), the DVD “Estado de Poesia” (2017) and the album “O amor é um ato revolucion” ( 2019), having signed the Musical Direction, together with Chico himself.
He is also responsible for the musical direction, directing albums by artists such as Chico César, Sandra Belê, Elon, Quadrilha, among others.
“Véu da Aurora”, released in April/2025, is his first solo album, featuring Chico César, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Titá Moura, Uaná Barreto, Guegué Medeiros, Xisto Medeiros and Julian Sanchez.
