Desaster, a German black/thrash metal band from Koblenz, was formed in 1988. The group's early lineup underwent changes before Infernal, the sole remaining original member, found new musicians to continue with Desaster in 1990. Okkulto and Odin joined in 1992, and the group released their first demos, The Fog of Avalon and Lost in the Ages. Their debut album, A Touch of Medieval Darkness, was released in 1996. Desaster gained international recognition with albums like Hellfire's Dominion (1998) and Tyrants of the Netherworld (2000), featuring collaborations with notable artists such as Wannes from Pentacle, Lemmy from Violent Force, and Beliar from Mayhemic Truth. The band signed with Metal Blade Records in 2005 for their album Angelwhore, followed by extensive tours across Europe and South America. In 2012, they released The Arts of Destruction.
