iquini Cavadão is the name of a tiny cut-a-way bikini well known in Brazilian beaches during the eighties. It is also the name of one of the most famous bands in Brazil in the last thirty years, with more than 1,5 million copies of their albums sold, and more than two thousand shows presented nation wide, a well as abroad. Bruno Gouveia (vocals), Miguel Flores da Cunha (keyboards), Alvaro Birita (drums) and Coelho (guitars) are together ever since their beginning, in 1985. They have a huge collection of nation wide hits: Tédio, Timidez, Vento Ventania, Zé Ninguém, Janaína, Quando Eu Te Encontrar, Quanto Tempo Demora Um Mês, Dani, Roda-Gigante are just some of them. Pioneer entrepreneurs, the were the first Brazilian band to have an e-mail to keep direct contact with their fans, and the first Brazilian group to have an official website, in the nineties. They played outside Brazil in the US, Portugal and Denmark, as well as in important events like Hollywood Rock (1993) and Rock In Rio (2001). Their first DVD, a live show in Fortaleza, achieved Diamond in 2005 and in 2013, with their album Roda-Gigante, it’s title track was nominee for the best brazilian song in the Latin Grammys award. In 2020 they also achieved a triple platinum award for more than 87 millions plays of their album Me Leve Sem Destino. After 36 years and 19 records, Biquini Cavadão proves that, when the matters come to bikini, they are always fashionable.
