🎶 Goldmeister - Hip Hop trifft Swing

Welcome to the twenties, we're sipping the moonshine (orig. Willkommen in den Zwanzigern, wir Sippen den Moonshine) is the inviting passage from Goldmeister's new album, which was released on 14 August 2020 by Schallkunst/Electrola. Goldmeister's Chris Dunker and Phil Ohleyer invite you back to the decade a century after the glorious 20s.

Since their debut album "Alles Gold" entered the Top 30 of the German Charts in 2018, the old-time jazz and swing of the Gatsby generation has a name again: GOLDMEISTER.

With their first album, Goldmeister were guests in various TV shows, such as "Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel" (Welcome to Carmen Nebel), with Andrea Kiewel in the ZDF Fernsehgarten (Television Garden), they thrilled the visitors at the Brandenburg Gate for the World Cup Fan Mile as well as at the same location at the ZDF New Year's Eve Gala. Goldmeister have also performed at numerous cultural and jazz festivals, such as the Mosel Music Festival, with their band, the Ragtime Bandits and their pianist Lutz Krajenski.

With their second album "Willkommen in den Zwanzigern!", the duo of Goldmeister stick to the tried and tested: a mix of German hip-hop lyrics and the jazz of the 1920s. But something is new: After Goldmeister had made it their task on their first album to give songs like "Sie ist weg" by the Fanta 4 or "Dickes B" by Seeed new melodies and thus create a new interpretation of the songs, seven of the 12 songs on the new album are now written by Goldmeister themselves.

With their new single "Gier" ("Greed"), the two artists from Goldmeister tackle an omnipresent and yet never before sung about topic. The striving for more and more, the unbridled greed that is in some people, is grabbed by the hair with elegant and often cynical lines here and the monster called "greed" is finely defined. Similarities to living or dead persons are purely coincidental.
With the radio edit, Goldmeister have made their new single Gier danceable. Fine guitar licks and a driving groove unite with the biting and cynical lyrics. And awaken the greed to listen to it again and again.
