My new single, Aunque No Estas, is out now!
The Dominican-American singer and songwriter from New York City, La Cassandra, captivates with her passionate and distinctive voice. Growing up, she listened to boleros, bachatas and Latin folklore gravitating to a variety of artists that have influenced her music such as Juan Gabriel, Gloria Estefan, Juan Luis Guerra, Selena and Celia Cruz. These influences drove her affinity to fuse the old and timeless with the new, reinterpreting tropical folklore with a modern twist.
The artistic evolution has resulted in significant traction in her career from opening at Yankee Stadium, the inaugural of Little Island NYC, to performing at the Havana Jazz Festival, to name a few. Most importantly, this past year Cassandra wrote and live recorded her upcoming debut album.
At the moment, La Cassandra is working on the release of her current project and debut album. She started writing the album in late 2018 and live recorded with over 13 musicians during the summer of 2019 in Havana, Cuba at the EGREM studios. Comprised of 10 songs, this record is a dynamic Latin pop album where the core genres are Tropical and Bolero. The album is best described as dramatic, passionate, romantic and unexpected.
La Cassandra takes a vow to womanhood and the celebration of life; paying great respect and tribute to her native roots, Dominican Republic.
The album is set to begin release 2021 with first single Ayer Llore Por Ti.
