I believe I may be one of the oldest musical debutants.
I am 57 years old and releasing my first song this month.
That doesn’t mean my music is for old fuddy-duddies. If I had to give a genre for my music, then I would say it is 80’s inspired pop/folk/rock. 80’s inspired because, well…that’s when I am from (musically speaking), and I believe that most people will enjoy my music, if not then they must have really bad taste.
I have been writing songs since I was 13 and I have a large backlog to release, that is of course, if people like the first 3 songs which I have already recorded.
MIK's Reaction is actually just one person, me - MIK.
Mainly because I can't afford to hire a band, but also because I love playing all the instruments myself
(with a bit of help from Simon Dobson, the producer at Lakehouse Audio).
My songs are my “reaction” to things I see and hear around me, this will be evident from the next release which is called “World Of Thirds”.
This debut single is called “Incredible To Me Now” and it is a song about Love lost and the regret that comes with looking back at what you once had.
It is a slowish remorseful song, without being gloomy.
The song will be coming out on all streaming platforms on 20th August, and I can’t wait, after all it’s been a hell of a long time coming.
I really hope you enjoy it, I certainly enjoyed making the song.
