Jairus Ijale Otokpa is a Nigerian music artist by the stage name "JayGlitz": a combination of the first letter of his name, and a personalized version of the word "glitter" as he believes that wherever he goes, he attracts attention; a feature that is common to glitters. A metaphor.
Born to Late Mr Alobo Job Otokpa and Mrs Maris Omari Otokpa on 19th August 1997, he hails from Benue State, in northcentral Nigeria.
He kick-started his music career in 2015 as a fun activity but realized that people were drawn to his sound. Consequently, he started to pursue it more seriously as his passion grew, culminating in the release of his debut single titled "This Year" in 2017.
He majors in Afrobeats, pop and contemporary R&B. However, because he believes music to be an expression of the innermost desires and a vessel for the transmission of human feelings, he does not limit himself as regards the genre; he goes with whichever is best for the expression.
He has released singles such as "This Year", "Talauci", "Alhaji featuring SukzyAfrica & Elzino" and others. He has also featured in many more songs including an international collaboration with a sierra Leonian Artist titled #Nyalima cibi whose Video held the number one on TV stations across sierra Leone for several weeks. He has performed across various Nigerian states and universities since his debut and is at work at some amazing ongoing projects.
