Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Sir Hop grew up influenced by the flavorful entertainment and street culture of the melting pot known as The City Too Busy To Hate. His staggering lyrical ability and spectrum-defying beat selection has garnered the attention of HipHopCanada, Solis Magazine, and more. Sir Hop began rapping and producing early on in life and by 20, he’d already produced and released 2 two full length LP’s (Square One, 2010; Greed or Ambition, 2011) under the J-Hop moniker. Afterwards, he went on to form the mask-donning duo, RMVBM and they released a self-titled LP (Rocket Man vs. Better Man, 2015). During that stint, Sir Hop toured the Southeastern US along with appearing at the 2015 Secret Stages Festival. After a nearly two year hiatus, Sir Hop helped found The Hit Committee record label and then started Night Mob Publishing Company International. From there, he continued working on his solo career and released 10 singles between late 2017-2018 under his new Night Mob Publishing imprint to regain buzz. The most successful of those singles, “B.O.M.S.A.” (2018), was only the second single he released at the time. Sir Hop also released a 3 track sample of an unreleased LP known as The Allure. Fueled by the success of “B.O.M.S.A.” along with the momentum of the subsequent music, Sir Hop continued growing his notoriety through collaborations with Poland’s MrWhiteBeats (Fly With Me, 2019) and the lo-fi legend known as ProducerTrentTaylor (Treat You Right, 2019). Deciding to double down in the lo-fi lane, Sir Hop joined forces with Captain Kudzu in late 2018 to begin crafting the highly acclaimed Between Two Worlds EP (2020). The first song to come of this union was “Southside Twilight”, which was immediately a favorite amongst underground rap enthusiasts. The project itself is laced with melodic, hard-hitting, and analog compositions and is about living in a state of perpetual juxtaposition. Near the release of Between Two Worlds, Sir Hop also launched Nightcap Cigarette Papers—his own brand of rolling papers. Through Nightcap, Sir Hop has been able to bridge his passions for both the hip-hop and cannabis industries.
