The DeZurik Sisters, born Mary Jane on February 1, 1917, and Carolyn on December 24, 1918, in Royalton, Minnesota, were an American singing duo known for their unique yodeling style. Raised on a farm, they developed their distinctive sound inspired by nature, winning talent contests across central Minnesota. In 1936, they signed with Chicago radio station WLS-AM's National Barn Dance and performed as The Cackle Sisters on Purina Mills' Checkerboard Time radio show. Their first recordings, released in 1938 on Vocalion Records, included "I Left Her Standing There" and "Arizona Yodeler". In 1940, they appeared in the country musical film Barnyard Follies. After marrying musicians from WLS, both sisters took breaks from music due to World War II. Mary Jane retired in 1946, leading to Carolyn recruiting their sister Lorraine as the new DeZurik Sisters. Lorraine retired in 1951 and Carolyn then joined the Ramblers.
