Taking the indie rock scene by storm, Marco Ema is a breath of fresh air in Quebec’s music scene. His first album released in 2021 "Où nos corps s'en vont mourir" was brilliantly acclaimed by the critics, leading to his nomination as iHeartRadio's Future Star of April 2022 on Énergie radio with his single "Amy". Under the sensitive direction of Simon Pedneault (Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Gabrielle Shonk, Tire le Coyote), Marco’s first album brings coming-of-age stories to music, and tackles skillfully the passage to adulthood.
In 2022, the artist's career took off and his projects were once again praised by the critics: his three sessions at Studio Makina featuring rising stars such as Léa Jarry, Kinkead and Ariane Roy, became iconic. Afterward, Marco embarked on a major summer tour, performing at notorious events such as Montreal's Francofolies and the Francos de Spa, in Belgium.
In spring 2023, Marco released “Buzz”, the first single of his sophomore album, then came the singles “Cinema Paradiso” and “Cool et branchée”. On October 27th 2023, Marco presented his sophomore album “Anyway, Mommy Love”, a more rock project featuring twelve songs, which pays tribute to his father, who unfortunately passed away in 2022. “Anyway, Mommy Love” features a greater diversity of instruments and longer songs, with a prog-oriented structure, as well as a central concept inspired by cinema.
On May 1, 2024, after concluding a three-week European tour, Marco Ema unveiled his single "On s'aime jusqu'à quand ?", featuring Gabrielle Shonk. The song takes us on Marco’s introspective quest, during a period of doubt, when he questioned the course of his life and the imminent end of his relationship.
