Formed by brothers Charles da Gama (vocals and guitar) and Chaene Gama (bass and vocals) along with Rodrigo Pancho (drums), Black Pantera emerged in 2014 in Uberaba-MG. Their debut album, "Project Black Pantera", came the following year and was met with excellent media reception. They have opened for artists such as Slayer and Sepultura and performed at festivals like Porão do Rock, Afropunk FR, and Virada Cultural.
After signing with the label Dec, they released the single “I Can’t Breathe” in 2020, in reference to the murder of George Floyd. That same year, they released the EP "Capítulo Negro" with reinterpretations of anti-racist songs. In 2022, they released "Ascensão", a turning point in the trio's career. The album's great reception led to performances at Rock in Rio, Primavera Sound, and Lollapalooza. With songs like “Padrão é o Caralho” and “Fogo nos Racistas,” they not only reaffirmed their anti-racist stance but also showcased the power and weight of their sound, a crossover of rock, punk, hardcore, funk, and metal.
In 2023, they released the English EP "Griô", and in May 2024, their fourth studio album, "PERPÉTUO". Both in terms of sound and concept, the album expands on what the band presented in "Ascensão", adding more styles and instruments while strengthening their identity.
The band is currently on tour with their new album, with confirmed appearances at Rock in Rio 2024 and Knotfest, as well as shows with Living Colour, Sleaford Mods, and Sepultura.
