John Engelbert and Oskar “Ossi” Bonde, formed the Swedish rock duo Johnossi after meeting at ages 12 and 15. The pair began playing together in 2004, and within five months recorded their self‑titled debut album Johnossi, released in January 2005 by a small indie label and reissued in September 2006 by V2 Music with additional tracks. The duo followed with the EP Execution Song (2007) and the album All They Ever Wanted (2008), which entered the Scandinavian charts and was later released in Japan. In 2010 the single "What's the Point" was issued, and the band supported Green Day at Ullevi that same year. Subsequent releases included Mavericks (2010), Transitions (2013), the EP Air Is Free (2016), and the album Blood Jungle (2017). In 2020 Johnossi issued Torch // Flame, expanding their sonic palette, and in 2024 the mini‑CD Känns så längesen was released. The group toured extensively across Sweden, Western Europe, the United States, and Japan, supporting acts such as The Hives and The Soundtrack of Our Lives, and their tracks have appeared in films, video games, and television, notably "Execution Song" in The Wave (2008) and "Air Is Free" in NHL 18.
