MARAPU is a "Roots Reggae Band" based in Bali Indonesia.
Marapu was formed on November 1999 in Jogjakarta.
A far cry from your typical Reggae cover band, they play authentic and original Roots Reggae with a international standard, and have recorded 4 original albums to date.
1st Album: "The Colours" - released in 2006
2nd Album: "Peace Love And Freedom" - released in 2009
3rd Album: "Terang Dunia" - released in 2011
4rd Album: "Won't Be Fooled" - released in April 2018
Marapu have been playing shows all over Indonesia during the past 20 years, and in the last 3 years have been booked oversea like in Australia, Asia, and Europe.
They have become one of the biggest reggae bands in Asia.
With their new album titled “WON’T BE FOOLED” just released last April 2018 Marapu go even further in the international music scenes by getting a worldwide distribution contract with the French Label “All Styles Editions” under "BACO RECORDS" (Protoje, Groundation, Natalli Rize, Danakil, etc...).
This year Marapu also get 3 Nominations from AMB AWARDS 2019 (Bali Music Awards 2019) included:
~ Best Band Of The Year.
~ Best Album Of The Year "Won't Be Fooled" by Marapu.
~ Best Song Of The Year "Politicians" by Marapu.
Marapu is now dealing a Australian Tour for March/April 2019, and a European Tour for the summer 2020.
