New single WITHERED FLOWERS feat. Jeff Young out now!
Headless is the new outfit by renowned hard rock singer Göran Edman, former Yngwie Malmsteen vocalist. The band plays a blend of classic and hair metal with a progressive injection.
Since the mid ’90’s Edman was mostly a studio session vocalist. Headless is his first attempt to give new life to his poetry.
After releasing the Growing Apart album in 2013 - feat. Scott Rockenfield’s drumming - Headless toured Europe extensively, opening for the likes of Skid Row, Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, ANGRA & Candlemass.
A new album - Melt The Ice Away - has been released in 2016 featuring Jim Matheos from Fates Warning.
In 2018 American vocalist Geoff Tate recruited some members of Headless to perform Queensrÿche classics in several European countries. The band's mastery of rock-solid AOR anthems was bolstered in 2020 by the addition of new bassist Martin Helmantel, whose playing helped provide the backbone for a decade's worth of stellar progressive metal from Dutch rockers Elegy from 1992 through 2002.
Headless signed with M-Theory Audio in Spring 2021 and announced their record “Square One,” then released in September 2021. A new Headless chapter entitled Transitional Objects is set to be released in Fall 2025.
When not onstage with Headless band leader Walter Cianciusi is usually touring with the metal legend David Ellefson, founding member of Megadeth.
