Jack Nitzsche is a musician in the shadows, one of those pillars of the Californian music industry, like Lou Adler or Lee Hazelwood. By turns pianist, organist, producer, songwriter and arranger, his signature appears on the back of many legendary records. Those of the Crystals, the Ronettes, Ike and Tina Turner, the Rolling Stones and Neil Young. He also wrote several film scores, including Cuckoo's Nest and The Exorcist, and recorded easy listening albums such as St Giles Cripplegate.
