Brigitte Ahrens, born September 13, 1945 in Chemnitz, Germany, is a singer known for her work in pop and schlager music. She started her career between 1961 and 1964 with the Schlagerchor of the Karl-Marx-Städter Klub der Jungen Talente. Her breakthrough came in 1967 after participating in Heinz Quermann's Talentwettbewerb Herzklopfen kostenlos and completing a microphone test at Rundfunk der DDR. Ahrens trained at the Zentralen Studio für Unterhaltungskunst and gained prominence through performances on DFF, releasing several sought-after Amiga records. Notable songs include "Wo ist die liebe Sonne" (1971), which won third place at the Schlagerwettbewerb der DDR, and "Da ging für mich die Sonne auf" (1974). After a hiatus, she returned with the 2005 album Ich geh auf die Fünfzig... na und? and continues to perform occasionally.
