Umqondo We Zinja Mixtape Out Now Mzansi Stand Up!
Mthunzi Bandile Twala born and raised in Vosloorus on the 22nd of February 1997. He was raised by a single mother and grandparents who always tried the best they could to give him a decent childhood, one to remember. He Fell in love with Hip-hop at the age of 15 but only started recording after High school when he was about 18 because at that time there was no big studios close by, and around that time his stage name 'Njebov was given to him by a very close friend.
On the 18th of November 2022 'Njebov is set to release a body of work, a Mixtape titled Umqondo We Zinja Mixtape which consists of 12 beautifully constructed songs. Each song addresses a different set of experience, pain and happiness that we go through when growing up in the townships of South Africa. The songs are organised quarterly meaning that the first three songs tell a deeper story about who 'Njebov is and what ideals he plans on sharing with his music. The second three songs are about the S.A Hip-hop industry and about how it is every ghetto kid's dream to one day get signed by a major record label. The third three songs move more to the focus of finding a solution to either improve or move out of the township and it's toxic environment.
The last three are have different recipients but they are all about love, the first one is a confession of his love for his girlfriend, the second is a about his best friend that he does not see anymore and the last song is about his love for S.a Hip-hop music and music at large, how he wishes that no one ever takes the music away from him. And with this four quarters the Mixtape is Complete. Umqondo We Zinja when directly translated to English means 'The Mentality of Dogs'
His influence on music mostly comes from the late Pro-Kid and internationally his mostly influenced by Ab-Soul
