Hola.Hi there!!! Estamos aquí para que disfrutéis de nuestra Música Celta. Potencia y fuego en las venas!!!!
Lume de Biqueira Celtic Band began its journey in 1998 in Madrid, its director is Darío Nogueira and currently is composed by more
than 60 musicians.
The repertoire, although being mostly Galician, is complemented by melodies from other Celtic influence Areas (such as Asturias,
Brittany, Scotland or Ireland), also incorporating influences from diverse origins and styles (classical, brazilian, pop, etc.), mainly in
those tunes composed specifically for the band by its director.
We act both on stage and in parade (processions, cavalcades...). In addition, the Association imparts various music classes in its facilities,
as well as informative talks about bagpipes and Celtic culture in general.
TYPE OF MUSIC
First of all, it should be emphasized that Lume de Biqueira’s a Celtic band. Although our music is based on Galician roots, Asturian, Irish,
Scottish and Breton traditional themes, our sound isn’t the traditional one, but, when combined with other modern instruments in
concerts or with high tension percussion in parades, the band achieves a “Celtic-Fusion” sound, which is characterized, among others,
by its power and potent impact. Precisely, what our audience highlights is that “we did’nt expect that sound” or “it’s a totally different
sound from any other celtic band that I have heard”.

There are two basic options:
PERFORMANCE ON STAGE WITH SOUND
AMPLIFICATION EQUIPMEN
It can be said that this is the best scenario for our band to completely shine. On stage, with the proper sound amplification equipment, is where Lume de Biqueira shows all its musical potential. Counting with great “firepower”, the combination of traditional instruments as well as other less expected additions as “plugged” instruments such as the electric bass, electric and acoustic guitars, ethnic and high tension percussion, among others, the band achieves a singular and potent mixture that very few dare to guess. And that’s because of the number of musicians on stage and a instruments diversity we used.
PARADE OR OTHER PERFORMANCE ON STAGE/STREES
WITHOUT SOUND AMPLIFICATION EQUIPMENT
Marching through the streets or performing wherever
requested.
It is also possible to combine both, for example by performing a
parade conducting the audience to the stage where the concert is
meant to take place.
Also, when it suits the organizer and event requirements, during the
show we can intersperse root folk moments, in which a smaller group
of our musicians use only traditional instruments to perform melodies
in their original or more traditional versions.
