The Perishers, a Swedish indie rock band formed in 1997, initially consisted of six members. The lineup stabilized in 2001 with Ola Klüft on vocals and guitar, Martin Gustafson on keyboards and backing vocals, Pehr Åström on bass, and Thomas Hedlund on drums. Their first studio album, From Nothing To One, was released in 2002, followed by Let There Be Morning the same year and Victorious in 2007. In 2005, they were handpicked by Sarah McLachlan to open her second leg of the Afterglow tour, during which she joined them on stage for "Pills." Their music was also featured in several television series including The O.C., One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, Grey’s Anatomy, and Kyle XY. The band disbanded in 2010 when Ola Klüft left to pursue a solo career under the name A Lanky Swede.
