Kio DJ, also known as DJ Kio, is a Colombian producer, DJ, and actor who has made a name for himself in the music industry. Born as Diego Bolivar Melo on May 4th, 1987, in Bogota, Colombia, Kio DJ has achieved several notable accomplishments throughout his career.
From a young age, Kio DJ was inspired by watching MTV and developed a passion for music. At 15, he acquired his first turntables and began playing music for friends and family. As a mobile DJ, he gained recognition and secured a contract with a top Colombian record company. This led him to perform at packed venues, concerts, and shows alongside popular artists, expanding his career throughout South America.
In 2011, Kio DJ received a major opportunity to work in the United States with White Horse Records. He specialized in electronic music and hip hop, sharing stages with renowned artists such as David Guetta and Daddy Yankee. Kio DJ's talent and skills brought him recognition, and he became the first Colombian DJ to play at the Playboy Mansion in 2012, a feat that was followed by the remarkable achievement of becoming the first Colombian to receive the Golden Visa in the UAE from the Ministry of Culture. Kio DJ returned to Colombia and embarked on a two-year tour across Central America alongside DJ Queen. During this time, he played a pioneering role in promoting the music genre "Reggaeton" and collaborated with artists like Zion & Lennox, Karol G, and El Duo Con Clase. Kio DJ also worked as an exclusive producer for J Diamond and produced music for television shows like "Colombia en su tinta."
In 2014, Kio DJ expanded his international reach by performing in Dubai for the first time. He played at the popular dance nightspot Savage Garden and continued to make a name for himself in the Middle East. Kio DJ also performed in Europe at Colors Club Nantes in France.
Inspired by new experiences, Kio DJ embarked on a four-month tour called "Queen Vs Kio" across South and Central America. He then made Dubai his home in 2016, where he performed at prestigious venues such as the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Sensation Night Club, and The Latin Festival. Kio DJ's talent and versatility as a producer and DJ gained recognition within the Dubai music industry.
