Tableek is an indie-hiphop artist, and is a member of the group Maspyke, DJ Roddy Rod, and Hanif Jamiyl. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Springfield, MA where he formed Maspyke with his cousin Roddy Rod and close family friend Hanif Jamiyl. In the early 1990s they were signed to production deal with Head Up/Elektra that led to work with Doug E. Fresh and the Aight! Remix by Roddy Rod, Chante Moore "This Time", and music with UK guitarist Ronny Jordan.
Their first independent release was "The Gong Show" b/w "Definition of a Snake" (Bukarance/B.U.D.S Distribution), followed by "54th Regiment" (7even Heads/Rawkus), "Truth In Position" (GrooveAttack) and many more. Maspyke have released two albums. The independently released debut "The Blackout" and the ABB Records distributed "Static", the latter dropping in 2005. Reunification of the group surfaces from time to time, but their last recordings included "3 Wheel Hooky" produced by Modaji, "Chillin" produced by Roddy Rod and "Step" Remix by 9th Wonder.
Tableek's first solo recording was a Japanese release with Jazzy Sport Records based in Japan. The 12" had two songs: "Worse Way" b/w"Serene Vision" featuring Roddy Rod and 4Ever and on the flip side. This was followed by a great number of collaborations, mixtapes, features, and 3 EP's all culminating with the first official solo album, "Hunting Bald Eagles..and Other Ghetto Tales" on his own BurntBerry Music imprint. The album features Sadat X, frequent collaborator Blaknerd, Stan Illa from the EarDrugz, Roosta from Fear Nuthin Band , and Whosane (Ski Beats Dojo). Production was handled by Roddy Rod, Kid Sublime, Chil Rock, Mass Pro's, and Tableek
Looking for a fresh sound, TABLEEK teamed up Ballroom Studios/BBE artist Kid Sublime for his solo sophomore release "A Deepest Blue". Recorded in Amsterdam, the sound is a spectrum of raw upper echelon emceeing and beat production that is second to none, and the subject matter ranges from police brutality ("The Beast") off beat lyricism ("Sneakers and Drugs"), and complex word play "Scatter Brained Oasis"...forward thinking hiphop, with absolutely banging beats. Exactly what you need. The album features Blaknerd, Krumbsnatcha (Gangstarr Foundation), & Stan Illa.
