Spanish Harlem Orchestra, a salsa supergroup, was formed in 2000 by Aaron Levinson and Oscar Hernández. The group is dedicated to reviving traditional salsa music as it was played in Spanish Harlem. Their debut album, Un Gran Dia En El Barrio, was released in 2002. Notable tracks include "Mama Guela" and "Pa' gozar". In 2004, they released Across 110th St. Featuring Ruben Blades, which featured the collaboration with Rubén Blades and was nominated for Billboard Latin Awards and Latin Grammy Awards in 2005. The group continued to release albums such as United We Swing (2007) and Viva La Tradición (2010). Spanish Harlem Orchestra has been known for their collaborations with notable artists like Rubén Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Bernard Lavilliers.
