‘’Melancholia often drives my songwriting, but not because I am inherently sad. I want to work through my pain. I want it to be friends with my happiness. Music is where all of my deepest emotions are allowed to be themselves, creating new space for healing and fullness of life.
Musically, I'm inspired by the melodic structures of Bon Iver and Novo Amor. Lyrically, I'm influenced by the visceral writing of The Lumineers and Noah Gunderson. I also draw from the romantic sadness of Petey and Slow Leaves.
My name is Hugh Lindsey. I currently call the city of Huntsville, AL home. Since I was a kid roaming around a southern town on my bike, it was my dream to be a musician. Recently I decided to take the leap and follow that dream.
Now, I am couch surfing and living in my 2003 Subaru Outback. Most days look like recording new content in national forests, editing and producing in coffee shops, and spending time deepening my connection to my musical craft and my home state, Alabama.
This is just the beginning. So whether you know me already or you’re meeting me for the first time, welcome to the journey.
If you ever want to talk, please send me a message on instagram.
Much Love,
-Hugh Lindsey’’
