Born in South Florida, and raised in Laurel, MS from age nine, Carissa has been singing and performing for as long as she can remember. At a young age, she used poetry and song writing to help her understand complex emotions. As a teen, she began leading worship.
By her early 20's, she was given opportunities to perform her original songs at local venues, but finishing her music education, marrying her soul mate, and having her first child put her music on hold for 9 years. Even still, making music was always her heart’s desire.
A voice that fuses jazz, soul, and pop, production with an alternative edge, and honest, emotional lyrics, Carissa's sound is original. Her heart is to continue to bring vulnerable, relatable music to listeners everywhere.
