Based in Copenhagen, Rasmus Littauer is the artist behind critically acclaimed albums released under the name School of X. Here he has forged his own collective with a similar ethos, moving in the same circles as Mø, Noah Carter, Liss, and Yangze. With his three brothers, Rasmus Littauer has been part of the vibrant Copenhagen music scene, shaping him into the artist he is today. He has also toured Denmark and the world as a live drummer for MĂ, The Minds of 99, and The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, bringing him to places like the Coachella Festival and the Sydney Opera House. Along the way, he found his own voice, which became the start of School of X.
And just as the Copenhagen-based experimental pop-art collective from the 1960s â from which he borrows his artist moniker â Rasmus Littauer continues to be on an uncompromising path to carve out his unique style of alternative pop with each of his releases. The hard work has not gone unnoticed, with School of X earning international acclaim for his powerful alternative pop imbued with a sense of melancholy, like NPRâs Stephen Thompson who noted how âLittauer's arty inspirations and aspirations don't drown out his pop sensibilitiesâ.
On stage, Rasmus Littauer transforms the recordings into a dynamic performance oscillating between high-energy bursts and tender, intimate moments.
Meanwhile, Littauer has collaborated with artists like Liss, Trentemøller, MĂ, Deb Never, Ana Perrote (Hinds), Spencer Zahn (Empress Of, Half Waif), Davide Rossi (Jon Hopkins, Gorillaz), among others.
