I'm Rafael Lara. Magnetico.
I always say “in my other life I was a musician” because I love it. I have been playing musical instruments since I was 3 years old and work as a Creative Director at a Branding Agency. My specialty is branding and of course I also develop and create songs, sounds and brand logo sounds as part of my job. I also make electronic and analog music and play all the weird instruments I can find.
My passion for music, as I said before, comes from my childhood and that early discovery made me appreciate every note, every tone, every rhythm in any type of music.
Of course, I have not only composed music for branding, but also for myself, as a composer or artist. Different musical styles ranging from the deepest chillout to the strongest techno, including pop, ballads and even some rock music.
I've been following in the footsteps of Jean Michael Jarre's atmospheric sounds since he was a child and building those types of sounds both digitally and analogically to tie into most of my work.
Why the titles in English? After publishing “Universo” the distributor made me see that titles in Spanish are not so easy to position on the platforms… I don't really understand the reason but it seems to me that it borders on the absurd. Hence, from that moment on, I am titling the new songs in English.
I wanted to make this justification because there are those who have asked me the reason and the truth is that the answer is just as absurd as the solution I had to give to make the publications better.
