Too Much Texas was an English indie rock band formed in 1984 in Manchester, consisting of Tom Hingley on vocals and guitar, Raymond Breckon on bass, Gordon MacKay on lead guitar, and Laurence Ash on drums. Initially, the band released a split flexi disc with Debris magazine and their debut single "Hurry On Down" on Ugly Man Records in 1988, supporting acts such as New Order and The House of Love. In 1989, Hingley left to join Inspiral Carpets, and the band continued with a new singer, releasing the Smart EP (1989). Too Much Texas eventually disbanded in 1992. A retrospective collection, Juvenilia, was released in 2006 on Hingley's Newmemorabilia label, the band reformed for a UK tour.
