Nodfeld is a versatile musician from Germany who has his roots in the techno scene. Born and raised in a musical family, he developed a strong interest in electronics and electronic music from a young age.
By the mid-1990s, he had immersed himself in the techno scene, initially as a DJ and later exclusively as a live act with various projects. Alongside this, he established himself as a label owner and mastering engineer.
As he grew older, he felt a growing desire to create music that could be enjoyed not only on dance floors but also in more personal settings. At the age of 40, he began learning the double bass and taught himself to play the piano. These new instruments, combined with his extensive experience in electronic music, merged into a unique style characterized by minimalist arrangements that blend piano, double bass, and electronic elements.
His musical style can be described as neo-classical, influenced by jazz elements and occasionally infused with techno roots.
However, it wasn't until the circumstances of the pandemic in 2020 that he could fully realize his new project Nodfeld. This period allowed him to break free from the constraints of the 4/4 beat, leading to a musical liberation.
This evolution culminated in the release of his debut album "Cloud Code" in 2021, followed by "Off" in 2022. Both albums showcase his ability to create intimate, emotional soundscapes. His latest work, "Oscillations," is expected to be released in September 2024, continuing this artistic journey.
