Our debut album crosses the genres from ambient, house & breaks
Tumbian is an ancient word for leaping or dancing about and that's where this duo from Somerset, England get their inspiration. Jon (one half of Tumbian) says: 'We produce and DJ electronic music with emotion at it's core. You can file it under genres like ambient, house or breaks but ultimately our sound is inspired by those shared dancefloor experiences which never leave you.'
The musical heritage of Bristol and Brighton are a major inspiration for Tumbian with the legendary nightlife of both cities feeding directly into their sound. As Jimmy (the other member of the band) says: 'We're lucky to have experienced such amazing diversity of people and culture right on our doorsteps and we try to filter those influences directly into our music.'
With summer DJ gigs planned and a debut Tumbian album landing in August 2021 its likely there will be many more opportunities to leap and dance with this duo in the future.
