Honing his craft in Bristol’s bustling and creative music scene, Californian born multi- instrumentalist and producer Oli Morris carved a unique sound, which is described as punchy and upbeat, conversant with many different aspects of the jazz genre (Derek Nash - Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra) and chilled, mellow and got some serious soul. (A&R Factory). His music comes with a purpose to understand himself, best highlighted by the photographs carefully selected to visually portray the centrepiece of each song’s meaning. Inspired by his early Californian roots, Flyer was taken when he was just 7 years old on a family vacation he only had vague memories of. Nostalgia-tinged, beautiful and unrelenting, it features some of the best musicians of Bristol’s jazz scene (Snazzback, Rwkus, Bristol Lockdown Big Band). Just months later, he’s been featured on Emeli Sandé’s album Let’s Say for Instance, opening the track Summer with sheets of his clear and delicate saxophone sound. After a successful tour and release of his debut EP A Brief Return to Solitude, which has gained widespread attention across the UK music scene and support from BBC Radio 6 and Jazz FM, Oli has solidified himself as part of Bristol’s burgeoning music scene and his extended his reach as one of the most exciting up and coming artists on the UK Jazz Scene. Expect a unique blend of jazz and soul influences, emotive melodies and energetic grooves throughout.
