Toronto’s Regent Park is home to some of the most notable rappers north of the border, and Puffy L’z is one of the foundational voices that helped create the sound that is so iconically tied to the neighborhood. Puffy L’z broke through with several successful records such as “Propa”, “RiRi”, and “Pull Up”, followed by the release of his debut project Take No L'z in July 2019.
His recent output includes hard-hitting singles like “Have It”, featuring fellow Regent Park rapper Young Smoke, the visually-jolting music video for “Wheel It”, and the melodic track “War Baby.”
Puffy L’z always represents his neighbourhood and his Somali roots. His unique flow, witty lyricism, and catchy hooks embody his distinct sound that has gained popularity in Canada and the UK.
Puffy came of age as part of the neighbourhood’s most groundbreaking collective, Halal Gang, with fellow artists Mustafa, SAFE, Mo-G, and the late Smoke Dawg. He also performed 15 dates on Drake's Boy Meets World European Tour.
Since bursting onto the scene with multiple hits such as “Been Flexing”, surpassing over three million views on YouTube, and “Front Gate” featuring UK rapper Giggs, Puffy L’z continues to grow, gaining serious momentum and new fans outside the city lines with each release.
Now, Puffy is taking his game to the next level, spending time in New York working on new music. His single “Tribeca Nights” is scheduled to release on January 28, 2022. The Canadian rapper’s first single of the year will give fans a taste of his growth and ever-evolving sound.
