Christina Dana is a jazz, pop and blues singer from Orebro in Sweden. She started out by singing gospel and quickly moved on to blues and jazz. With lots of ideas she started to compose songs, using only her iPhone and ear.
Her inspiration comes from listen to music from all over the world but mostly from Italian music with roots in the narration tradition and the American Songbook
With a great ability to form lyrics which are ironic and humorous on the surface but are sprung from real life experience, Christina compose her songs. The songs are melodical and captivating and easy to listen to.
Christina collaborate with musicians who are very skilled and responsive and likes to create the music together to bring forth the the uniqueness in every song.
To peel off unnecessary sounds and use the feelings as an expression in her voice has become the label of Christina. The voice is expressive, varm and melodic and every musician she works with contribute to paint the songs with the right melody and expression.
Sometimes the simplicity is the most beautiful sound. Especially in todays musical context with many opportunities to produce complex sounds.
