Pioneers of the UK happy hardcore scene, Force & Styles are best known for their iconic 1996 anthem, Heart of Gold - a track that became one of the most celebrated in the genre's history. The duo, comprising Paul Hobbs (Force) and Darren Mew (Styles), helped define the sound of '90s rave culture with euphoric melodies, high-tempo beats, and heartfelt vocals.
Their music resonated so deeply with fans that Heart of Gold remained popular well into the 2000s, inspiring a full-length album of the same name released on hiGHBorn Records in 2000. Though Force & Styles released many 12” singles during their career, none captured the same timeless energy as Heart of Gold, a song that secured their legacy in the happy hardcore hall of fame.
With their innovative production and undeniable chemistry, Force & Styles helped shape a generation of rave music and continue to be celebrated as legends within the scene.
