Dreamy, synth-driven melodies, cinematic progressions, honeyed pop vocals, and punchy beats – this is the sonic palate of indie-pop darlings Porcelain Moon (formerly known as Emerger) - the musical fusion of band- and life-mates, Emma Goode (lead vocalist/pianist) and Gerry Matthee (producer/multi-instrumentalist).
The duo met in high school and studied side-by-side while working toward music degrees at the University of Cape Town. With formal training in Jazz (De Goede) and Classical (Matthee), the duo’s strengths are perfectly complementary. De Goede’s crystalline vocals are at once intimate and soaring, floating across bouncing grooves, fat, 80s/90s-inspired synth textures rounded out by Matthee’s tasteful and meticulously constructed guitar and bass parts.
For Porcelain Moon, 2025 is poised to be a breakout year, with a slate of releases and performances on tap to slake the thirst of their ever-growing fanbase as the duo continues to refine their irresistible sound.
