New Release! 12 Minute Long 2022 Extended Remix of Listen & Obey
Eddie Kanani is a high-energy, rhythmic, lyrically encouraging recording artist & music producer. His latest release is Listen & Obey (2022 Holy Hip Hop Extended Remix), w/12 minutes full of new instruments, vocals, breakdowns & solos performed by Eddie.
Eddie previously released his debut CD, Soul Solution, available on CD and all digital music platforms. The album includes the hit song “Listen & Obey,” also featured on a Hip-Hop compilation album released nationwide to retail and digital stores on the EMI label. The song continues to get regular streams across the US and internationally every week in 2022.
Eddie composed, arranged and performed all of the music and vocals on Soul Solution, his 26-track debut album that clocks in at over 70 minutes long. The song selection for the album started with a pool of over 500 songs Eddie has written. Eddie recently put together an EP of 12 favorite tracks from Soul Solution as a Spotify playlist.
Soul Solution was mastered at Sterling Sound by Grammy® Award-winning engineer Tom Coyne (Beyoncé, Adele, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Miguel, Taylor Swift) and mixed by Grammy® Award-winning engineer Tom Swift (Miles Davis, AC/DC, Madonna, Rolling Stones). Three of the songs on the album, including Listen & Obey, were mixed by Ben Parris.
Eddie Kanani also writes, arranges, produces and remixes for other artists. His first major-label production work started in his dorm room before graduating from music school under the supervision of executive producer Dez Dickerson, VP of A&R and the original guitarist / founding member of Prince’s band the Revolution.
Eddie has produced, written and arranged in the studio with Denise Matthews (formerly known as Vanity), Dawkins & Dawkins, Edwin Hawkins soloist Di’ta Monique, and dozens of other Gospel & Christian artists, including Holy Hip Hop artists Michael Peace and Sherman "The Warrior" Carson.
In 2016, Eddie released an exclusive mix of his song Jesus (Instrumental Version w/Background Vocals) to Apple Music in memory of Denise Matthews, who he was blessed to know and write songs with. Denise, formerly known in the entertainment world as Vanity, was someone who truly loved Jesus with all of her heart and was an incredible encouragement and inspiration to everyone around her.
