Pippo Franco, born Francesco Pippo on September 2, 1940, in Rome, Italy, started his career as a singer and guitarist in the late 1950s. His first notable appearance was in 1960 with Les Pingouins, performing alongside Mina Mazzini in Je cherche une maman. In 1968, he achieved modest success with the single "Vedendo una foto di Bob Dylan." Franco participated as a presenter at the Festival di Sanremo from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, returning in 2008. He released several albums, including Cara Kiri (1971), and composed music for children's shows. His acting career began with a role in Luigi Magni’s film Nell'anno del Signore (1969). He starred in various comedies, including Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda (1972) and appeared in international productions like Billy Wilder’s Avanti! (1972).
