BOLD, brazen and utterly mesmerising; CRYSTAL are a four-piece grunge/punk band from Glasgow. Born from the city’s continuously fruitful and shape-shifting music scene, the hugely talented outfit first burst onto the nation’s radar when they opened Paolo Nutini’s infamous Night Afore gig as part of Edinburghs Hogmanay celebrations in 2016.
Since then, CRYSTAL have carved out a thrilling new path with a renewed sense of focus and remarkable vitality. Led by the hypnotic vocal stylings of front-woman Anna Shields, their new material is laced with nineties grunge, desert rock and pop sensibilities. Wolf Alice meets Queens of the Stone Age in their recent critically acclaimed single ‘Heaven’; an infectious blend of jagged guitars, propulsive rhythms, quirky synths and irresistibly catchy choruses.
Having previously featured on Tony Visconti’s Unsigned Hero’s as well as being selected by Frank Carter to play Sailor Jerry’s Open House, the band made an unforgettable impact at Wide Days 2018 where they were chosen to showcase at a sold-out La Belle Angele.
