“See, home is where the heart is, and mine was always vagabonding”. Born in 1998, Igor grew up in a family of classical musicians. His love for rap music on the other hand was the fruit of his own curiosity. Once he discovered Kanye West’s “Graduation” at the age of nine, he was deeply convinced that he wanted to have a career as a Hip-Hop producer. Throughout every track that he has ever made, Igor has been on a mission to let his musical background shine through. With an approach reminiscent of a composer-performer — rather than that of a beat maker — Igor has created a unique style largely built around his expertise of classical instruments.
For the longest time, Igor considered himself a producer above all else. But when he noticed that rapping came to him naturally, he realized his ability to let his love for wordplay and the musicality of the English language seep through his creative and disciplined songwriting.
“Windows” is a perfect introduction to the producer-turned-rapper’s universe. Complex, therapeutic and engaging, Igor’s debut EP, which deals with themes such as childhood lessons, self doubt and promised success, boasts the features of a well established Hip-Hop artist’s album. The selection of flows and beats is extremely diverse, yet the project as a whole is undeniably cohesive, with well-thought-out transitions, both in between and within songs.
