Cord is an English pop‑rock group originating from Norfolk, England, formed in 2006. The band’s lineup included James Leeds on vocals and keyboards, Phil Davison on drums, Mike Jackson on guitar and keyboards, and Andrew Walsh on bass. Cord’s first commercial push came with the single "Sea of Trouble" in September 2006, which spawned several versions including a radio edit and acoustic rendition. Their debut album, Other People’s Lives (Are Not As Perfect As They Seem), was released on 2 October 2006 under Island Records, followed by the single "Winter" that reached number 34 on the UK Singles Chart in 2006. After a brief contract dispute, the band was released from Island in March 2007, split in 2008, and re‑formed in 2010 to release the second album, Later Is Better for Me, If That’s Okay?, in 2011 on NRone Records. The group’s tracks appeared on the Madden NFL 07 soundtrack and the NME Essential Bands 2007 compilation, cementing their presence in mid‑2000s British pop‑rock.
