Jovan Landry is an American multidisciplinary artist and bodybuilder athlete known as the "1/3 Filmmaker, 1/3 Photographer, and 1/3 Emcee." The Chicago-based artist is known for her poignant verses, which center around themes of self-empowerment and triumph over adversity. Onstage, she captivates audiences with her magnetic presence, effortlessly commanding their attention. Through her beats & productions, Landry taps into the Hip-Hop/Rap, House, Tribal-Afro-Indigenous, and Meditation genres. In 2017, Jovan received the WeWork Creator Awards grant to spearhead Synergy: the first all-women/femme-produced, performed, and engineered hip-hop album. With Synergy now archived at the Universal Hip-Hop Museum, the collective has hosted events & workshops, performed on channel ABC-7's talk show Windy City Live & the Women in Hip-Hop Conference at St. Louis University. In 2020, Landry released her first instrumental EP, World Vibe, inspired by the sounds of cities she stepped foot in during her travels. Presently, Jovan continues to sharpen her skills through live performances, composing for herself & other local music acts, laying sounds for podcasts & dance artists, and dropping singles monthly.
