Mark and Michael purposely tanked their senior year state tennis tournament with Coach Sanford at HHS just to play at the battle of the bands that same day at USM. Being still just in high school, they beat out all of the older college bands and won the battle and grand prize of a 4 song EP free recording from Miller Recording Studios on West Pine Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Hence, “Jesus Has Long Hair Too” was no longer just a frat party song and could then be played in your car’s cassette deck or in your boom box in the bathroom and in your Sony Walkman.
