Irish rapper TJ Maestro delivers slick, thought-provoking rhymes over hypnotic trap and hip-hop beats, finding the balance to get his message across to the listener. Inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Brockhampton and Eminem, he shows an undeniable ability to switch flows seamlessly on tracks, perfectly matching the instrumental with bars full of energy and passion.
He began making music at 13, writing rhymes in his notepad to the many classic rap instrumentals he obsessed over. After silently working on his craft for some time, he released his first demos on SoundCloud as Tonik in 2017. In summer 2018, he released his first collection of songs titled “Process” under the moniker T UGNA. Although there was an initial lack of sonic quality, he showed significant potential to write catchy songs and killer bars. In 2019, singles “Heart Stone” and “Star” showed further songwriting and flow progression. Following this, he took a step back from releasing songs to reflect and continue his overall artistic growth.
In March 2020, he returned with his last single as T UGNA, “2020 Vision”, to high acclaim from fans.
In July 2020, he released his first single under TJ Maestro, "Right Now", and in November, released his long-awaited collaboration with Nmcg titled "Up All Night", both of which continued his impressive growth.
It is certain that TJ Maestro is becoming one of the most exciting artists in the Irish hip-hop scene and is set to have a very promising 2021 and beyond.
