Tobin Mueller, in 2025, remastered and re-releasing many of his iconic recordings, several as Deluxe Editions.
Tobin Mueller is a composer, playwright and interpretive pianist. His musical compositions range from Jazz Fusion to Progressive Rock, Broadway musicals to Old-School Funk, Jamband improvisations to Classical ballet. In the late 1970s, he was one of several composer-pianists who developed what became known as New Age music, although Tobin's style identifies more closely with complex modal/post-bop jazz. Mueller is a NYC Dramatist Guild Broadway playwright, a composer-lyricist-producer member of ASCAP, and has appeared on over 40 albums.
Tobin has recorded with Grammy winners Dave Brubeck, Ron Carter, Michael Hedges, Donny McCaslin, Jon Anderson (from Yes), Brian Welch ("Head" from Korn), Bob Lanzetti (founding member of Snarky Puppy), Carl Fischer, Sal Giorgianni, Roy Agee, as well as Grammy nominees Dane Richeson (Blue Note Records), Ken Schaphorst (founding member of Boston-based Jazz Composers Alliance), Janet Planet, Noah Hoffeld (Brad Mehldau) and more. He has collaborated with Grammy winner and Blues Hall of Fame guitarist Paul Nelson on two albums (Prestidigitation and Standard Deviations). Contributions on his recordings from famous drummers include: Scott Rockenfield (Queensrÿche), Ruben de Ruiter (Amsterdam Funk Orchestra, John Patitucci Band), Lamar Moore (Lettuce), Mike Nappi (J Geils Band). Early in his career, he had the honor of playing with Maynard Ferguson.
