Cairo Steps Band members in DE and Egypt could not see each other during the lockdown and could only meet virtually. They created a virtual cafe where they meet every Friday to exchange ideas and news between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, one of the soloists played music alone on his instrument. These recordings were so beautiful and served as
documentation of the Corona time for the band, which gave Basem Barwisch the idea to publish these solo moments. They are solo instrument performances with a “one take” unique recording without any improvements to keep it authentic.
Diwan cafe should help the audience to reflect and meditate.
