Hailing from the paradise isle of Sri Lanka, Dem Da Diamonn is a rapper, producer and DJ, even though he hasn’t hit the decks lately; Dem Da Diamonn initially developed a love for DJing, later making a bold decision to concentrate on making his own music rather solely spinning other’s, ventured into producing through a very long learning curve.
Buying his first Hip Hop album on a cassette tape in as early as 2002, he fell for the genre in 2001. Then he started his recording musical career at the young age of 16 with his co crew members Knazty J, O’ J and Waa’ J where they recorded their first original in 2005 representing the ‘hIPLEZhOP’ crew, nonetheless their legacy only continued as far as 2010 as a crew.
However, he went onto record several tracks with his crew, though suddenly diving into a silent mode for almost a decade. Entered back into the musical arena in 2018 working underground he began to produce his own beats. Even though the artist has been making beats stretching back to as early as 2003, the artist bets you hardly could give ears to his early creations.
Taking the decade long break to self-teach him with mixing and mastering skills and exploring the do how’s of the industry, Dem Da Diamonn concluded his learning curve by researching on how streaming held the industry’s future; and came back into the musical scene in 2020 with his debut solo ‘Again’.
