Formed in Warsaw in December 1990, Hate is a Polish death metal and black metal band. Founder and multi-instrumentalist Adam Buszko, aka Adam the First Sinner, has been the driving force behind the band for four decades. Poland's pioneering band began recording demos in the early 1990s, before signing with underground label Novum Vox Mortiis, releasing their first two albums, Daemon Qui Fecit Terram (1996) and Lord Is Avenger (1998). After gaining local notoriety, Hate signed with national specialist label Metal Mind Records, releasing the EP Victims (1999). A tour with the band Immolation led to the signing of a contract with the American label WW3/Mercenary Music for the release of the album Cain's Way (2001), while Anaclasis - A Haunting Gospel of Malice & Hatred was distributed in 2005 by Empire Records and Morphosis (2007), by Listenable Records, like its successor Erebos (2010). The international notoriety now gained by these productions and repeated tours made Hate a prominent band in their niche, and attracted the interest of Napalm Records, which deployed its considerable resources for the critically acclaimed album Solarflesh (2013). However, on April 6, 2013, bassist Slawek Arkhangelsky aka Mortifier passed away while on tour in Germany. The band continued with the album Crvsade: Zero released in 2015, dedicated to him, followed by Tremendum (2017) and Auric Gates of Veles (2019). The renewed line-up then includes, around Buszko, Dominik Prykiel aka Domin present since 2017 (guitar), Tomas Sadlak aka Tiermes (bass) and Daniel Rutkowski aka Nar-Sil (drums), both of whom arrived in 2020. The albums Rugia (2021) and Bellum Regiis (2025) are recorded in this configuration.
